The Broadcasters

Steve Collins: The presenter of the daily breakfast show since the start of Quay F.M. seven years ago. Steve has been involved in the music business for many years, firstly as a singer with a band in his home town of Cambridge, then as a d.j on Alderney, and now as a radio DJ.

Tim Butler: Enjoys getting up early to present 'The Early Riser' - loves classic British pop - local wholesale Manager for Le Riches.

Rea Gregg: Manager of the popular Divers Inn at Braye, a well known d.j. in his time, presents the weekend breakfast show every Saturday and Sunday from 7.00 a.m. until 9.00 a.m.

Andy Newman: expert on Northern Soul - amazing vinyl collection - island mobile DJ - professional renovator of houses - part time Fireman.

Rachel O'Toole: 2nd Chef at the busy Belle Vue Hotel, still involved with the radio station but this summer sharing her afternoon programme between 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. with Philip. So, tune in to see if it's Rachel or Philip, or both of them! 

Colin Mason: Started in radio with KFMK, Houston, Texas - full career in British broadcasting, BBC and commercial radio and television - likes Soul Music and Oldies.

James Clarke: A department manager for Blanchard's, the largest D.I.Y store on the Island. A local D.J. who presents a Saturday and Sunday show this summer helped by his daughter Shannon. Is it James Clarke assisted by Shannon or Shannon assisted by James Clarke?

Ralph Burridge: Accomplished musician who has a particular love for Jazz Music - aviator and former pilot with Aurigny - Driving Examiner for the Island.

Dougal Bohan: For the best selection of sixties music and fun competitions listen to Dougal every weekend.

Bill Walden: A really busy man is our Bill, he has been with us since the station started in 1999, but this summer due to pressure of work and his active life a an Alderney States member he is not able to do his normal show. He will return at some time in the future!

Philip Hilditch: Phil has a busy life, he has his own business at The Harbour, the very successful Burger Queen mobile food service station, and he works at the prestigious First and Last Restaurant in the evenings, but he is working with Rachel in the afternoons between 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. and as mentioned before when you listen in it could be Philip, it could be Rachel, it could be both of them!

Nigel Roberts: A much travelled business man who lives in the fast lane promoting his internet business, Island Networks. This summer he is able to present the Monday to Friday 10.30 until 12.00 noon "oldies" show with a slight twist. Listen to find out.

John Russell: Presenter of the Daily Diary - astute observer and rapporteur of island life - an expert on Middle East affairs - a keen sailor and boat owner.

Tracy Jean: Really enjoys being 'press ganged' (by Steve) as Co-Presenter of the Breakfast Show - adept at getting her own back!

Paul Collins: Co-Presenter of the weekend Breakfast Show, as well as the stations on-site Engineer.

The Management

Chairman: John Russell is a retired senior officer in the British Army where he was a communications expert. Subsequently, he entered politics and served as a member of the States of Alderney. He is a leading light in the Alderney Sailing Club.

Station Manager/Sales Manager: Colin Mason is a career broadcaster who has worked in US radio and television, Ulster Television, the BBC, and British commercial radio. He was the founder Managing Director of the Home Counties based Chiltern Radio Group and, later, the Deputy Chairman of London's Choice FM Group.

Programme Director: Steve Collins is an accomplished musician who, on leaving his native Cambridgeshire, took a career change into hotel management. He came to the island in 1974 and is the proprietor of Alderney's highly successful Belle Vue Hotel.

Technical Director: Richard Robinson has worked in the United Kingdom and the Middle East as a broadcast engineer. He was the Technical Director of the Chiltern Radio Group and, later, the Chief Executive of Horizon Radio in Milton Keynes. Richard designs and builds radio stations all over the world.
